1. Garden in Van Cortland Park (The Bronx) — Tuesday, July 7 (10:00am – 1:00pm)
Join the kids garden crew for a day! Have fun getting your hands dirty in the vegetable beds for a good cause — all produce is donated to local food pantries and sold at the Youth Run Farm Stand.

2. Manhattan Henge (Manhattan) — Sunday, July 12 at sunset (8:20pm)
Just twice a year, the setting sun aligns exactly with Manhattan’s street grid, creating a beautiful glow of light that illuminates the north and south side of every cross street. Click here to learn more.
**Tip from Neil deGrasse Tyson: Watch the sun set from a location as far east in Manhattan as possible. 34th Street and 42nd Street have the added advantage of proximity to the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building.
3. Little Makers Events at New York Hall of Science (Queens)
Families with young children are invited to create together! Projects range from inventing your own ice cream flavor to building a glider plan. Check the schedule for upcoming events and register here.
Cost: Materials fee (per session): $8 per family, plus NYSCI admission
4. Story Time at Books of Wonder (Manhattan)
Every Saturday (11am) and Sunday (11:30am) Books of Wonder invites parents and children to join in a free read aloud! Books are selected each week based on the ages of children in attendance.
Cost: Free
