Parent Involvement

What does it mean to be the parent of a Success Academy scholar?
Success Academy parents care deeply about their children's success and embrace the ACTION values along with the rest of the community in order to achieve our common goal—enabling your children to achieve success by receiving the highest-quality education possible.
Collaboration / Partnership

We commit to our parents that we will:
- Surround you and your scholars with a community of leaders, teachers and parents who all share the same vision of academic achievement
- Encourage a real-time, two-way communication policy that includes:
- Frequent updates about your child's progress, what the school is doing to help your child flourish and grow and how you can support your child academically
- The cell phone number and email address of every teacher and leader in the building so you can contact us
- A communication policy that guarantees your questions are answered within one business day
- Maintain an open-door policy, allowing you to visit and observe your child’s class
- Include you in family academic events and field trips so you can see the magical growth and development of your child firsthand
|
We ask our parents to commit that you will:
- Being actively involved in your child’s learning—instead of us asking you to sell candy or otherwise fundraise, you are asked to read a book a night with your child, six nights per week (To date, our parents and scholars have read more than 1 million books)
- Making sure that all homework is completed every night
- Making sure your scholar is in school on time every day
- Celebrating your scholar’s success at family meetings and academic events
- Being an active member of the school community
- Modeling the ACTION values of Success Academy at home
