About Our School:
Led by Michele Caracappa, Success Academy Bronx 1 opened in 2010. With 342 scholars, the school is located at 339 Morris Avenue in Mott Haven, a primarily residential neighborhood in the South Bronx. It is near the 4/5/6 138th Street – Grand Concourse stop. Success Academy Bronx 1 is proud to have received public recognition for its accomplishments, including an article written in the Village Voice.

Michele Caracappa, Leader of Success Academy Bronx 1
Before becomming a founding staff member at Success Academy, Michele taught at P.S. 5 in the Bronx. Confident in her scholars’ abilities, she is passionate about working to create one of the best schools in the Bronx and closing the achievement gap. Michele graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a major in sociology and a minor in urban studies and French.
