Ms. Heaney joined Success Academy in 2017 as a first-grade teacher at SA Union Square. She also taught kindergarten and second grade and served as a grade team lead there before joining SA Hell’s Kitchen in 2022 as assistant principal. She transitioned to the principal role at SA Hell’s Kitchen in 2024 and, that same year, expanded her leadership to include SA Midtown West Middle School. Ms. Heaney holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Gettysburg College and a master’s degree in education from Touro Graduate School of Education. Ms. Heaney is passionate and committed to building a school with a strong sense of community for both scholars and staff. Outside of education, she enjoys going on walks and trying new restaurants in the city!
