New York, NY – Mayor de Blasio has given Success Academy Queens families what they’ve been asking for: a suitable permanent middle school so that their children can continue their education.

In August, Success Academy Ozone Park Middle School will open its doors to the 250 fifth and sixth graders, who had previously been temporarily co-located with I.S. 238 in Hollis; the school opened in 2020 as SA Hollis Middle School, but due to pandemic students learned remotely and never entered the building. The new space will be in a private, stand-alone building, located at 109-55 128th Street in Queens. It has a gymnasium/auditorium and cafeteria, and is large enough to accommodate all middle school students from SA Rosedale and SA South Jamaica when fully enrolled.

“We’re grateful the mayor has done the right thing by kids and families,” said Eva Moskowitz, founder and CEO of Success Academy.Success Academy families were tenacious in their advocacy, and we appreciate the support of Congressman Meeks and the Queens delegation in securing this new educational home.”
