New York, NY — As more school systems around the country are making the difficult decision to close buildings, Success Academy, which will be educating its 18,000 remotely this week, will be sharing its plans and resources. Throughout this week, Success Academy founder and CEO Eva Moskowitz will host virtual meetings with superintendents and principals around the country to discuss remote learning best practices.

The Robertson Center at Success Academy will be hosting a series of webinars open to the public. On Tuesday, March 17 from 12 to 1 p.m. EST, Jessica Sie, Success Academy’s Director of Literacy and History, will lead the first webinar on Success Academy’s approach to remote learning. Sie will cover the current plans for online learning, what teachers and school staff are doing to prepare, and resources and tips for parents and educators alike. There will be an opportunity for Q&A. Link to register here.

The Robertson Center will be sending out daily emails to interested educators and parents with a “Thinking Job of the Day” for students who are learning remotely due to the pandemic. This will include a math activity that students can work on at home. Link to sign up to receive these resources here.

Educators can also visit the Success Academy Ed Institute, for free access to the building blocks of Success’s K-8 curriculum, along with virtual professional development resources for teachers and school leaders. ###

Founded in 2006, Success Academy Charter Schools are free public K-12 schools open to all children in the state through a random lottery. With 45 schools across Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens, Success Academy enrolls 18,000 students, primarily children of color from low-income households in disadvantaged neighborhoods: 74% receive free or reduced-price lunch, 94% are students of color, 16% have disabilities, and 8% are English language learners. Success Academy schools received more than 17,000 applications for about 4,000 open seats for the 2019-20 academic year. For more information about Success Academy, go to
