SUCCESS ACADEMY’S LARGEST SENIOR CLASS ACHIEVES AN AVERAGE COMBINED MATH AND VERBAL SAT SCORE OF 1268
10 Percent of Class Scores Above 1400
New York, NY — The sons and daughters of immigrant families, African American, and Hispanic — most of the seniors at Success Academy High School of the Liberal Arts will be the first in their families to attend college, and last week the class got some great news from the College Board. On average, the 114 seniors scored 1268, about 200 percentage points higher than the national average. Ten percent of the class scored above 1400, and three scholars scored above 1500. One scholar, Loretta Tuider (below), scored a perfect 800 on math.

ABOUT SUCCESS ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOLS
Founded in 2006, Success Academy Charter Schools are free public K-12 schools open to all children in the state through a random lottery. With 45 schools across Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens, Success Academy enrolls 18,000 students, primarily children of color from low-income households in disadvantaged neighborhoods: 74% receive free or reduced-price lunch, 94% are students of color, 16% have disabilities, and 8% are English language learners.
