Ms. Newton joined Success Academy Harlem 5 in 2016 as a kindergarten teacher, later becoming a lab site teacher and then assistant principal. She holds a bachelor’s degree in history and Africana Studies from the University at Albany and a master’s degree in early childhood special education from Hunter College. Ms. Newton is a passionate believer in the enormous potential of all scholars. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, music, and quality time with her loved ones.
From their very first day, scholars take part in art, music, chess, and athletics—built right into the school day and free for all families.
