Ms. Hegge joined Success Academy in 2019, serving as a fourth-grade teacher at SA Bensonhurst before transitioning to school leadership. She currently also serves as principal of SA Bensonhurst/SA Sheepshead Bay. Prior to Success Academy, she was an eighth-grade ELA teacher and an educational director at Preschool of America. Ms. Hegge holds a bachelor’s degree in youth studies from CUNY Brooklyn and a master’s degree in youth studies from CUNY Graduate Center, and brings over ten years of educational experience providing innovative and stimulating learning environments for children and adults.
Ms. Parrilla began her Success Academy career at SA Bensonhurst as a second-grade homeroom teacher, serving as both a classroom teacher and grade team lead before transitioning to assistant principal. Ms. Parrilla holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature and a dual master’s degree in general and special education from Touro University. As a first-generation college graduate, she is deeply committed to expanding academic opportunity and ensuring every scholar receives a rigorous, high-quality education. Outside of school, she enjoys baking artisan bread and being a proud cat mom of two.
