Libby Ashton

An Ohio native, Ms. Ashton joined Success Academy Bed-Stuy 1 in 2013 as a teacher resident, teaching students with special needs and general education students. As a lead teacher on the second grade team, she modeled best practices that helped other teachers boost the academic performance of their students. Ms. Ashton also worked for a summer with the education technology company LearnZillion, where she launched Common Core-aligned first grade math units on the company’s digital learning platform. More recently, she served as a leadership resident at SA Fort Greene and at SA Bed-Stuy 1. Ms. Ashton has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in education from Touro College. During her spare time, she enjoys reading in city parks and biking around Brooklyn.
