Success Academy Seniors: 100% College Bound!

On Thursday, June 7, our very first class of high school seniors graduated at the stunning Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, 100% of them college-bound, many with full scholarships. The Commencement Ceremony brought together almost 1,000 educators and leaders, families, juniors, sophomores, and long-time friends and supporters of Success to celebrate and honor these outstanding scholars. Ursula Burns, Executive Chairman of Veon Ltd., spoke of the daunting world that the scholars will face — and of her belief that they can truly make a difference if they give the best of themselves.

Scholar Moctar Fall accepted the Founding Families Award, presented by founding parent Natasha Shannon, for his leadership and commitment to the Success Academy community. Scholar Briannie Bratcher earned the ACTION Award, presented by assistant principal Dr. Kendall Richards, for being a true ambassador of Success.

And senior Kelvin Jennings, who will return to his home city of New Orleans to study at Tulane University this fall, reflected on his Success Academy experience, expressing thanks to a steadfast community of supporters.

Founder and CEO Eva Moskowitz addressed the seniors:

“Today, we are sending you out into the world, with the expectations that you will use the education you have been afforded,” she said. “I want you to work hard in college and know that achievement will always follow, to set ambitious goals and pursue excellence, and to prize leadership, so you do not follow but lead the way.

“This is what you’ve started, and and I want you to remember, as you go out to change the world, that we love you, and are here for you — always.”

Congratulations, Class of 2022!
